9-20 2017

Meting opened by President Mike Benjamin at 4 PM

Board Members Present: Drinkard, Cafferty, Gabel, Darnell

Visitor: Jon Ketchum

Old Business:  Frank to check with City of Sandpoint on status of old meter station on Pine St.

Frank to talk to City of Sandpoint about ongoing charges for meter.

Other —   Discussion on status of water supply from Dover – Fred talked to the Mayor and she said they are moving ahead on the assumption that we will eventually buy our water from them.  Their application with D E Q is in the process, and they are proposing three scenarios that we will need to examine, and come up with input – after they hear back from D E Q. She hopes to hear from them by first of the year.

Water loss for month of August was 296,713 gallons. This was mostly because of the leaking valve at Ontario and Lower Syringa.

Discussion Re:  cost recovery on billings for meter charge from Sandpoint.  It was agreed to add 3 cents to the $1.78 we have been charging.

Heavy water use for month of July. Average use was about 15,000 gallons.

Discussion Re:  adding for loss of water. We have been losing around 100,000 gals per month, which would add about 34 cents per thousand gallons to our water charge. It was decided that the past water loss may have been the leak at Ontario and Lower Syringa, and we should wait to see if the loss continues now that the leak has been repaired.

Fred talked to Sewell about the status of our correspondence with D E Q. Tim said he has been unable to get ahold of them, and he would try to find out where our application is in the world of D E Q.
