Meeting Minutes

Meeting opened at 4 PM by President Mike Benjamin

Items discussed :
Dean Crook – found leak on his side of meter. We offered to let him make payments over time if need be for lost water. The District sells water for the same amount we pay Sandpoint for it so not able to give a discount as requested by Mr. Crook.
Also, there is an old meter under his house which we will remove.
Mike found an old meter on a discontinued main on Baldy Road, which we will have removed. Serial # 28852936 – Fred will try to find Certificate that matches it.
Selkirk school. Mike will talk to them about replacing meter box which has been nearly destroyed by them.
Fred to get list of Irrigation users from Gary Rench or Terry Kuenzli, 75 upper syringa, Fred to ask Terry Jensen if we have a liability if there is a cross connection made by someone and our lines are contaminated. Maybe a letter warning them about this concern.
Late payers were discussed. It was decided that there are no great concerns and that Mike will contact those few who need to be reminded that we need to be paid in a timely manner.
Neil working on locating valves at Upper Syringa and Ontario that the highway district paved over. Also looking for possible leaks at these valves.
Stephen brought up issue about Board Member pay. Since responsibilities, duties and liability as a board member is a continual item, if a board member misses a meeting do they still get paid? It was discussed and agreed that since Board members are involved in the operation, up to 2 meetings can be missed per year without forfeiting the $100.00 per month pittance. The by-laws should be changed to note this for future reference. This will be discussed at next meeting.
